The Anglo-Saxons loved food and drinking. The food was cooked over the fire in the house.
They ate meat and bread and drank ale.

- beans
- onions
- apples
- cherries
- plums
They didn’t eat some foods we eat today, such as potatoes, tomatoes, bananas and pineapples.
